Inside Kulia’s Management Training Program: A Chat with Denise Delgado

What does it actually look like to grow into a leadership role at Kulia Business Solutions? It starts with learning the job, putting in the work, and taking on more responsibility along the way. Our Management Training Program gives team members the chance to do that, with coaching and support from people who have been in their shoes.

We caught up with Denise Delgado, one of our top reps in the program, to talk about her experience so far—from the challenges she’s worked through to what she’s learning about herself and leading others. Here’s what she had to share:

What interested you about the Management Training Program?
What interested me was the opportunity to build something instead of simply having a job. I wanted a career; I just didn’t know my career was going to be this amazing! The Business Development Program gave me the opportunity to challenge myself, grow as a leader, and learn how to build something from the ground up. What started as an opportunity in sales has become a path toward leadership, entrepreneurship, and ownership.

What is your expansion plan?
My expansion plan is to develop strong core leaders who can develop other leaders and build a strong team. My goal is to open the Boston market and establish Boston as the HQ of the East Coast. From there, I want to continue expanding into new markets, creating opportunities for people to grow into leadership and ownership. I don’t just want to open an office. I want to build an organization with a culture and leadership pipeline that can continue growing.

What was your previous job?
Before joining the Business Development Program, I was a bartender. Bartending taught me how to connect with all different types of people, communicate under pressure, read the room, and create a great experience for the person in front of me. Those skills have translated into sales and leadership in ways I never expected.
